Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Technogears ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, stores and protects information when you use our website www.technogears.co.in and our internal desktop and server applications that connect to Google services (together, the "Services").

1. Information we collect

  • Information you provide: name, phone number, email, company and message content submitted through our contact forms, quotations or email.
  • Google account information: when you authorise our application with Google, we receive basic account identifiers (such as your email address) and an OAuth access/refresh token.
  • Google Drive data: files and folders that the application creates, uploads, reads or manages in your Google Drive, limited to the permissions (scopes) you approve on the Google consent screen.
  • Technical data: standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited, timestamps) and cookies needed for the website to function.

2. How we use Google user data

Our application uses Google Drive access solely to:

  • upload, store and retrieve backups of our business systems (databases, files and documents);
  • list, download, update and delete those backup files to manage retention and restore data;
  • organise business documents in folders that you control.

We do not use Google user data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose other than providing these user-facing features.

3. Google API Services – Limited Use disclosure

Technogears' use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Specifically:

  • we do not sell Google user data;
  • we do not transfer Google user data to third parties except as necessary to provide or improve the user-facing features, to comply with law, or as part of a merger or acquisition with prior notice;
  • we do not use Google user data to serve advertisements;
  • no human reads Google user data unless you give explicit consent, it is necessary for security purposes or to comply with law, or the data is aggregated and anonymised for internal operations.

4. Sharing of information

We do not sell personal information. We share information only with service providers that host or operate our Services (for example our hosting provider and Google), under confidentiality obligations, or when required by law.

5. Storage and security

OAuth tokens and data are stored on servers controlled by Technogears with access restricted to authorised personnel. Data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS). No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we apply reasonable technical and organisational safeguards.

6. Retention and deletion

We retain data only as long as needed for the purposes above or as required by law. You can revoke our application's access to your Google account at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions. To request deletion of data we hold about you, email info@technogears.co.in; we will respond within 30 days.

7. Your rights

Subject to applicable Indian law, including the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data, and withdraw consent, by contacting us.

8. Children

Our Services are not directed to children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data.

9. Changes

We may update this policy. Changes are effective when posted on this page with a revised effective date.
